Fremont County Treasurer

The Treasurer is the collector of property taxes, sales tax and fees on motor vehicles, and other revenues from federal, state, and local sources. Other responsibilities include investing the County’s funds, accounting for all receipts, and disbursing moneys to various taxing entities such as school districts, municipalities and other special districts each month.

Our mission; “Working to Best Serve You” describes our efforts to continually improve to provide cost efficient and effective service to Fremont County citizens, County Departments, and outside agencies that rely on the services of the Fremont County Treasurer.

We hope you find this site useful and informative. If you have any comments on this website or have interest in other services provided by Fremont County, please feel free to contact us. If we can’t help you, we will find someone who can.

The deadline for payment of the first half of property taxes was November 10, 2021. Penalties and interest have begun accruing on the first-half payment. If your payment was mailed prior to November 10, postmarks will be honored. If you missed the deadline, you can still pay the full year of taxes (i.e., both halves) on or before January 3, 2022, to have penalties and interest on the first half waived.

The next Fremont County Tax Sale is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at the Fremont County Courthouse in Lander. Date and location are subject to change. Listings of properties with delinquent taxes will be published beginning Sunday, July 17, 2022, in the Riverton Ranger and also on the Legal Notices page of this website. Please check back for additional information.
