Dubois Museum Wind River Historical Center

petroglyphThe Dubois Museum is located in the Upper Wind River Mountains not far from the south entrance at Yellowstone National Park.

The Upper Wind River Range has a rich cultural history as well as amazing geologic features that have shaped the history of the area.

The petroglyphs in the Torrey Basin are a remarkable look back in time and provide insight into the Native cultures present so long ago.

Trappers and Traders have long valued the Dubois area for its abundant natural resources.   The development of the Tie Hack industry in Dubois is also a result of the abundant natural resources in this area.

The Upper Wind River country has long been a destination of tourists.  The Guest Ranches industry grew up in the early 20th Century.  The Dubois Museum is home to a rare collection from the CM Ranch, one of the oldest guest ranches in the country.

The Dubois Museum offers a great group of programs, tours and treks that take place throughout the summer to take advantage of for both visitors and residents.  Contact the Dubois Museum 307-455-2284 for details.
